1992 THE 1895 REPLICA
This is the Limited edition Euro version of the 1895 Replica
Bottle released in 1992. This is a
1Lt 43% Vol. From 1866 to 1895, Jack Daniel sold his whiskey in
barrels, kegs and stoneware jugs.
It wasn't until 1895 that the familiar square glass bottle
was first used. This "1895 Replica" bottle
commemorates that historic year.

Text on back of box:
From 1866 to 1895, Jack Daniel sold his whiskey in
barrels, kegs and stoneware jugs. It wasn't
until the summer of 1895 that the familiar Jack
Daniel square bottle first made its appearance. Young
Lem Motlow, Jack Daniel's nephew, was
working at the distillery and was set on convincing his uncle
to sell his whiskey in glass bottles.
Mr. Daniel was not easily persuaded but agreed to
look at some sample bottles. the salesman form Alton
Glass Company was getting nowhere. None of his
standard bottles were impressing Mr. Daniel. In
desperation, he reached for his final sample. It
was a radical design, new and untested: a square bottle
with a fluted neck.
He produced the bottle with a flourish and
proclaimed, "A square shooter like you, Mr. Daniel, should have
a bottle to match!"
it was a plus that no other whiskey was bottled in
square glass. Jack figured his charcoal-mellowed whiskey
was different, so the bottle he put it in should
be different too.
We're pleased that Lem Motlow was able to convince
his uncle to use glass bottles. We're also proud to
offer this limited edition "1895 Replica " bottle
to commemorate Lem's success.
